Had an awesome time here. Food is pricey a bit. Expected bigger servings. Lots of stores pushing alcohol. Pizza, subs, poutine, fried dough, fried snacks. Ice cream, hot dogs and smoothies. Live music, arcades and a beach. A few parks. Every home owner is offer parking close by. Parking lot was like $7 for 3 hours.
Very fun place to hang out! My family loved making sand castles and boogie boarding next to the pier and then going onto the pier for lunch and ice cream. My wife and I came back in the evening and sat at an open air table at the very end of the pier to have a couple of drinks and watch the fireworks show. TOTALLY AWESOME DAY!
I went to a jewelry shop to get my ring size checked and to get a few (they were $4.95 per ring which I thought wasn't too bad). The man who was helping me had a very bad attitude and made me very upset by his demeanor. If he had acted that way towards someone younger they definitely would have cried.
Sad that it wasn't open in September when we visited. Pretty beach though. I imagine it would be a great place in the summer.
You have to get the steak tips at hooligans, at first I was sceptical about getting somewhat higher dollar meat dish on a tourist pier. But after I took my 1st bite of onions meat and rice I knew it was worth every penny and the best meal I've had in oob. The meat was perfectly marinated savory and tender with a perfect compliment of well cooked onions and flavorful rice pilaf. I live in Portland proper which is about 25 to 30 minutes away depending on traffic but I make the drive to get this dish whenever I can.
