I can't recommend this place, unfortunately.
Surprisingly this place had amazing lobster rolls! The price for one was great too! We'd stop and grab one every day before heading to the beach.
I am a resident of Old Orchard Beach and have been going to Shelly's for years. Historically this sandwich shop has made unbelievable sandwiches with very generous portions. Unfortunately this year they have had difficulty hiring help, someone in training has made my sandwich every time and the shop is up for sale. The first time I got a sandwich this year I was disappointed and didn't say anything because of the training but today I asked them to add more ingredients because the sandwich was looking empty. The cashier explained that the portions were the routine amount. Then I explained my long term experience with this sandwich and what is customary for quantity at Shelly's. She told me she would pass my comments on and I explained to her that I would send in this review. Let's see if the owner has any concerns.
Not a massive selection, and the subs don't hold very well (falling out when picked up, even though not over stuffed).
Got 3 sandwiches for the family. The chicken salad was pretty awful. The meat was dark and the mayo was cloying. The Italian sub was "okay, not great".
Biggest and best lobster roll in Maine! Kids meal comes with a sand bucket and a small toy for $6.99! Coming back for breakfast...
Went to this place on a local recommendation.
